UNION, NJ – October 27, 2025

This year’s Dean’s Forum at Hynes Hall, Kean University, hosted by Dr. Jin Wang and Dave Farrokh, focused on one of today’s most transformative topics: Artificial Intelligence. The university had the privilege of welcoming Hugo Almeida, founder and CEO of Abitronix, as its guest speaker.

The event drew an impressive crowd — standing room only, with more than 150 attendees, including students, professors, and faculty members eager to explore how AI is shaping the business world.

Hugo’s talk, titled “AI as a Business Tool: What Every Graduate Should Know,” explored how AI can be leveraged as a powerful assistant in business. He began by walking the audience through the technological evolution that has led to the rise of AI as we know it today.

He then made a key distinction between what AI is and what AI is not — an essential clarification in an age when misconceptions about AI’s capabilities are widespread. Hugo also emphasized the importance of understanding AI’s trajectory and how its ongoing development will shape the business landscape in the years ahead.

Before closing, Hugo shared real-world examples of Abitronix projects that integrated AI over the past year. These included innovations in Contact Center automation and AI-powered video analytics for smoke and fire detection systems throughout New York City, showcasing how AI is being used across diverse industries and applications.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, an inspiring and thought provoking session that equipped Kean University students with valuable insights into how AI can empower their future careers and businesses.
